Launch of Blump'it ! Alpha

We’re happy to announce that the private alpha version is out.

If you want to try it and give us your feedback, please register here Please note that because Blump’it! displays an interface that breaks with the traditional computer desktop user interface, being dedicated to touchscreen devices, we recommend that you install it on a touchscreen tablet or, at least, on a netbook.

Blump’it ! has up to now been developed for Firefox the first widely available browser that respected Web standards and allowed for easy modification, so as to provide you with better user convenience.

We think Apple’s announcement of the iPad is great news: it will democratize tactile interfaces on larger screens than phones, encourage hardware manufacturers and software developers into releasing high quality touch-control products.

Following these interview, Matt from CrunchGear installed Blump'it ! on a Viliv x70 and SlashGear highlighted : " it turns every browser into a Joojoo" (well in fact Blump'it might be installed on the Joojoo too !) Note that you can now buy a nice "lab" 10'2 tablet to experience Blump'it !

What's a browser ?

Very interesting lesson from The Youtube Google Channel which explains what a web browser is not : not a computer, not a search engine.Watch the street video of this summer to realize that normal people don't know, just because they don't care about the technical layout- only content matters- and in one sense they're absolutely right. I assume Google is guessing : "Better they understand, better you they switch from IE to Chrome", which represents between 2 and 8% marketshare depending on the hypothesis you take,

If you speak about View Pages, percentage should be around 8% because Chrome has been mainly be installed by geeks on Windows. And Geeks surf a lot more that regular users
If you speak about downloads/PC ratio, my opinion is that it should be close to 2%.

Chrome is obviously a sprinboard to forecoming ChromeOS adoption. At Blump'it! we are fan of smart WebOSes that facilitates usages to normal people in their everyday life, because internet is just not another application that has been added by Microsoft, Mac and Linux in 1995. Proof : it's 80% of PC usage !
